Hale takes time to be outside with her 13-year-old son, and Okamoto enjoys supporting the Los Angeles Angels and Anaheim Ducks at local games.

Since the beginning of 2017, realtors Carrie Hale and Charisse Okamoto at Caliber Real Estate Group have worked together to provide personalized home buying and selling services to the Old Towne community.

The duo attended Chapman University together and played on the women’s basketball team, gaining a persistent and competitive skill set they say directly applies when working with their clients.

“The office can be chaotic, but I love how the job is different every day,” says Okamoto. “I do much of the paperwork and manage the business, while Carrie is often out in the field showing property and meeting clients.”

After graduating from Chapman, Okamoto and Hale worked as teachers at different schools, both eventually transitioning to the world of real estate. Okamoto was licensed in 2009 and Hale in 2003. Now, the pair help home buyers and sellers find their perfect home solutions in the Old Towne neighborhood, working from their convenient location on Glassell in the heart of the Plaza.

“Our clients love the fact that they can walk down to Blue Frog and get coffee or pretty much walk anywhere to get food,” says Okamoto.

Besides its proximity to the Plaza’s vast number of eateries, Caliber offers customers valuable sales insights into the Old Towne area.

“The Old Towne market is absolutely different from other markets in Orange,” says Okamoto. “There is limited inventory, just because it is so small of an area, and the turnover isn’t high, because people who live here love it.”

The Caliber team’s willingness to guide clients is apparent in their customers’ success and gratitude. A. Wagner, represented by Okamoto, says that in just a few weeks, the group has already provided him with a lender, a contractor and an escrow agent.

“I find the whole Caliber Real Estate team to be extremely friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating,” he says. “I also appreciate their down-to-earth style.”

Although Caliber’s team is small, their efforts show considerable success in the area. Okamoto and Hale are in the top one percent in sales for agents based out of Orange, and in the top seven percent of all agents in Orange County for 2018.

“We’re competing with other big companies, and we’re still top producers,” says Okamoto.

Okamoto and Hale own the brokerage and believe that while creating their own hours adds a certain level of flexibility, it often leads to jam-packed 12-hour days.

“We’re happy to be our own bosses,” says Hale. “A full day of work can be challenging, but it’s rewarding, and we love it.”
