Hilbert Museum of California Art
Mr. Stern will discuss the art style called "Orientalism" which depiccts aspects of Near East and Middle East life as recorded by artists from a European point of view. It consists of magnificient works by 19th-century Western artists who specialized in "exotic" subjects, produced from their travels in the Middle East and Western Asia during the mid to late 19th century.
